After trying in vain to get the SPOT GPS to work again this morning, I headed off to Vancouver with Racheal to the MEC to replace it altogether.
As always, the staff at MEC were awesome, and replaced my SPOT without a problem. One quick phone call later and we were back up and running on the new device. I even tested it out on the ride home to make sure the tracking was working. It was, so we are ready to go!
Tonight I am going to the theatre with their family to watch The Avengers, which I am quite excited to see, but tomorrow I will be back on the road.
Tomorrow is when the truly challenging section begins. I climb up Allison pass in Manning Park tomorrow, an uphill section that everyone Ive talked to refers to as the most grueling part of the entire journey. The day after I will be climbing Sunday Summit, a section only slightly easier than the previous. The area is also somewhat remote, with limited cell reception, and increased bear sightings; this is why it is important for my GPS to be working. After thia I bevin the decent to Kelowna.
It promises to be an exciting couple of days; and I will be sure to update once I am back from the wilderness. (With lots of nice pictures!)
Only one picture today; the GPS which caused me ao much trouble. At least it gave me a chance fo rest before the mountains.
